Dromore RR committee in association with Dromore 2000 and Dromore Sports Complex organise a community road race every June with all profits going to charity. We are lucky to have Bernard Maguire of McDermott’s pharmacy as our main sponsor. Other businesses in the town also offer sponsorship for what proves to be a marvellous mid-summer turn out of experienced runners from clubs all over the North and a brilliant day out for families and spectators. The event hosts a 10k run, a 5k run and a community and family 5k walk. This race is affiliated to Athletics NI and celebrated its 10 year anniversary in June 2019. In recent years we have teamed up with Dromore Health and Well-being to have a health fair and a showcasing of all our local groups and societies in the adjacent primary school thus bringing out the whole community, old and new to a very sociable event.  Covid 19 has resulted in the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 race but we hope to return stronger in 2022.
